LONELINESS IS SELF CREATED

LONELINESS IS SELF CREATED

“Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. The man who loves his life will lose it, while the man who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.”John 12:24(NIV)

To love your life in such a way that you are not willing to let it go so as to produce other lives potentially locked within it is to hate your life.

You are setting up your life to be a lost treasure.

What a vivid picture that scriptures painted.
Do you see it? You are holding the grain of wheat there in your hand.
It’s got a hard little shell around it, it’s all by itself, it’s right there in your hand.
It’s yours,
it’s your life,
you control it,
you make the decisions.

You can decide what you want to do to it. You can hold onto it and keep it. But if you keep it, Jesus says, it will remain alone. Nothing more will ever come out of it.

How many lonely people there are all around us in the world today? They are lonely just for that very reason.

Being alone is different from being lonely.

Being ALONE is when you are all by yourself, without a companion.
You can be by yourself and still not LONELY.
Being LONELY is when you HOLD BACK YOUR LIFE like a seed stored away without being planted.

When you are not willing to let go your life in order to produce the fruits that it was originally designed for.

LONELY PEOPLE are holding onto that little grain.
They are not willing to let it go. And so they have it. It’s all theirs but it’s, oh, so lonely.
What’s the alternative?
Let it go, drop it.
Hand it over to God.

Let God take control of it.
Be willing to drop into the ground, lose sight of it, and be buried even there in the dark.

Maybe people will walk over it, but God’s promise is that a new life will come out of it: a life that’s worth living, a life that’s not just for time, but for eternity.

I have proof from this that you are not wasting, when you let people march on you in your bid to be a blessing to many.

Yes! People with low insights might think you are stupid and not smart, but YOU CANNOT BE LONELY, even in eternity.

HAVE A FRUITFUL DAY!

Introduce Yourself (Example Post)

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
